Barcelona Football Tour

No trip to Barcelona is complete without a visit to its football club, Barcelona, and the Nou Camp Stadium.

Football’s closest thing to a cathedral, the Nou Camp has a museum with photographs, film reels, curiosities, relics and, of course, an incredible collection of trophies and silverware, paying homage to the club’s illustrious 107-year history.

The tour begins in the changing rooms, then you walk out onto the hallowed turf itself and can have your photograph taken with a lifesize image of your favourite player, whether it be Ronaldinho, Messi, Deco or ‘Tarzan’ Puyol.

Then its up into the Presidential Box, offering extraordinary views around the ground. Also included in the tour are a visit to the Press Rooms, the club chapel and a chance to lift the European Cup with your own hands!

Souvenirs of every description- videos, balls, kit, leisurewear etc- are offered in the club superstore.

We can help you get tickets to this tour through our office at Welcome Apartments when you book to stay with us at one of our quality hotel/apartment style accommodations. Tickets can also be arranged through barcelona football tickets.

If you have any questions or need information on anything in the city of barcelona - please do not hesitate to drop us a line.

See A Football Match In Barcelona

When Real Madrid plays FC Barcelona in the Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona, people come from all around the world to enjoy the occasion. These are two old sporting institutions that define themselves by their shared rivalry.

I went to the 2004/2005 game. What an atmosphere! Barcelona took the field looking like they were ready to rock or in Ronaldinho’s case, samba. The Brazilian danced onto the field like a demented reveller onto the streets of the Rio Carnival.
‘CATALONIA IS NOT SPAIN’ declared a banner so big it could have been seen by a telescope from Madrid. Several other banners were unfurled employing a similar message, although with slightly more ‘industrious’ language.

Legendary crooner Dyango sang the Barca anthem — ‘More Than A Club’ — with backing vocals by 120,000 emotional supporters. 90,000 cards of red and blue were held aloft by fans creating an ocean of Barca colour.

The hosts eventually whipped their eternal rivals 4-1, in an unforgettably passionate atmosphere. For anyone wishing to experience first-hand all the passion of sport, nothing tops a football match between Barcelona vs. Real Madrid.

On one side there is royal Madrid, forever associated with the regime of Generalissimo Franco, and on the other is Futbol Club Barcelona, a symbol of Catalan autonomy.

The 68 years since Franco assumed power of Spain have seen such tumultuous contests between the two teams that the tie has established itself as the classic game in Europe.

Political and cultural differences have often caused mayhem at matches. During one match in 1970 Barcelona fans became so incensed by the referee’s performance they threw 25,000 seats onto the field.

In another game a Fascist troop attempted to arrest the Barcelona groundsman, Angel Mur, on grounds of being a communist. And more recently there was the notorious tossing of a pig’s head onto the field at the feet of Luis Figo, who had betrayed Barca to sign for Real. Figo politely declined, having already eaten his dinner.

Tickets are worth their weight in gold, but can be booked via Barcelona football tickets.

As always we will be glad to help you with purchasing your tickets for any sporting match in Barcelona and would fit you and your guests into one of our great Barcelona Hotels/ Accomodations. We will do all to ensure that you have a great stay with Welcome Apartments and a memorable time in Barcelona.
